Here’s how A-list celebrities find live: Raya Dating App, the “Tinder for Famous People”
While Online dating is not something new, more and more app developers and entrepreneurs are interested in tapping into different niches. The exclusive Raya dating app is the latest app designed to help celebrities, A-listers, models, and America’s most popular and cherished entertainment personalities find love. Basically, the app is Tinder for famous people.
In order to join Raya, members have to pass a mysterious algorithm involving Instagram influence, connections to other famous people, personal recommendations, and an exclusive selection committee. On top of all that it’s not free to use.
Once Raya members are accepted, the experience is controlled by the app’s developers. “Raya solves the privacy problem through careful curation, as well as its interface: Try to screenshot someone’s profile, and you’ll get an alert threatening to kick you off the network if the photo makes it online.”

The membership model of famous-people-Tinder might seem a little shallow at first, but it’s just another invention by the geniuses over at Silicon Valley who have tapped into the “assortative mating” industry. What’s assortative mating? Besides being a big catch phrase tech investors like to use, its pairing people with similar backgrounds together. According to social Psychology studies, people are attracted to people that look, think, and act just like them. In 1903 Pearson and colleagues reported strong correlations in height, span of arms, and the length of the left forearm between husband and wife in 1000 couples. Basically, the catch phrase “birds of a feather flock together” couldn’t be any more true.
So many of the users are already aware they are A-listers and are interested in connecting with people in similar social circles. No longer will an Oscar-nominated actor have to worry about hooking up with a gold digger, because Raya app will personally exclude people who are not at the same social level as the A-lister.
Want to know what it’s like using the Raya app? Well, in a report by the NyPost one user explains what happened in detail and it’s pretty crazy.
From NYPost:
He met the woman at her million-dollar NYC apartment, paid for by her father (whom, she happened to mention, had recently flown one of the presidential candidates on his private plane).
“Within minutes, she got naked, handed me her phone and asked me to photograph her. She had floor-to-ceiling windows and her doorman was watching us from [the street],” says John. (Names have been changed to protect dating viability and Raya membership.)
