Paris Has Fallen TV Series: A New Spin on Gerard Butler’s Action Franchise

Date:

Key Takeaways:

– Paris Has Fallen, a new TV series inspired by Gerard Butler’s Has Fallen franchise, has released its first trailer.
– Actor Gerard Butler is not in the series, but he is an executive producer.
– The show will premiere on Canal+ on September 23rd.

Let’s dive into the excitement surrounding the new TV show, Paris Has Fallen!

The Thrill from Big Screen to Small Screen

Imagine your favourite action movie, now think of it not just as a two-hour thrill-ride, but stretched out into a full TV season. Sounds exciting right? This is precisely what is happening with the Has Fallen series. After delivering three high-octane films – Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, and Angel Has Fallen, StudioCanal is now introducing Paris Has Fallen to the small screen.

Unlike the previous films where Gerard Butler played the tough secret service agent Mike Banning, the actor isn’t going to be on screen for this series, but he hasn’t completely left this world. You’ll be glad to know that Gerard is one of the executive producers, staying with the franchise to guide the story from the back seat.

The High Stakes in Paris

The new series plans to keep you at the edge of your seat with a thrilling plot. Here’s a sneak-peek into it. The story starts when a terrorist group, led by the villain Jacob Pearce, played by Sean Harris, targets a high-profile event with sights set on the French Minister of Defence.

In response, we see Vincent Taleb, a protection officer essayed by Tewfik Jallab teaming up with Zara Taylor, MI6 operative played by Ritu Arya. But, as the events take a sinister turn, the duo learn about a much bigger scheme and even suspect a mole within their ranks.

We’ll just have to wait to see if Wits and Zara can save Paris from falling into the hands of a man who’s seeking nothing but revenge.

A Fresh Spin on the Franchise

Producing a TV show based on a film series isn’t an easy task. Especially, when you’re dealing with a franchise that’s known for its nail-biting action. Anne Chérel, EVP of global sales and distribution at Studiocanal, confessed, putting the big-screen thrill into eight episodes was indeed a significant challenge.

Their goal was not to create just one 8-hour movie but to shape it as eight separate action movies, each episode delivering its unique action. Also, future seasons could take us beyond Paris, expanding the storyline to other thrilling locales.

Ultimately, the production house aims to maintain the same energy and intensity as the original film franchise. So, fans can look forward to some spectacularly exciting episodes and twists in the tale.

Waiting for the Premiere

All the excitement will unfold when Paris Has Fallen premieres on Canal+ on September 23rd. And for those who can’t help but ask about Gerard Butler, well, the actor might not be leaving the franchise after all. It was reported last year that he could be returning to the series in the fourth installment, titled Night Has Fallen. However, there isn’t much news available about the project.

Let’s hope we get to see more from Gerard Butler, and let’s gear up for the small screen thrill with Paris Has Fallen! What do you think about the new TV series based on Butler’s action franchise?
