Catfish’s Nev was kicked out of college for hitting a woman in the face.
Nev Schulman, the host of MTV’s Catfish, took to Twitter last night and made a joke about Ray Rice, the running back who has been banned by the league for knocking his wife unconscious. The joke was in terrible taste for many reasons, but most importantly Nev was kicked out of college for hitting a woman.
Nev, readily admits to being expelled from Sarah Lawrence College after punching a woman in the face. In his book, In Real Life: Love, Lies and Identity in the Digital Age he reveals the incident:
But that is only Nev’s side of the story. According to reports, Nev was taking photos of people who never consented to being photographed and was not defending himself but actually lashed out.
Nev was taking photos of the school dance when he began to photograph two women who were kissing each other. One of the women, who had not consented to being photographed, pushed Nev’s camera out of the way, at which point he punched her directly in the face.
Nev later took to twitter to give an awkward apology for posting the bad taste joke.
For the record – I like sports. I just like education, racial equality, health care, LGBT rights, gender equality and the environment more.
