Natalie Portman is taller in Marvel’s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’
It’s pretty interesting how Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige himself explained earlier that they did a little “movie magic” to bring Natalie Portman closer in height with her co-star, Chris Hemsworth. Now the actress has revealed how this effect was achieved.
When she first started acting in the Marvel movie, the company built an elevated platform for her so that they could make Hemsworth look taller than he was.
This leveled the playing field as Natalie Portman stands at 5 feet and 3 inches compared to Hemsworth’s 6 feet and 3 inches.
Despite this Hollywood illusion, Portman says she trained very hard to be built for the role. She prepared physically for the position and even downed a couple of protein shakes.
Among Natalie Portman’s more memorable roles was as Padmé Amidala in the ‘Star Wars’ prequel trilogy (released in 1999, 2002, and 2005). In 1999, Portman enrolled at Harvard University to study psychology while still working as an actress; she completed a bachelor’s degree in 2003.
Chris Hemsworth is an Australian actor. He first rose to prominence in his native Australia, playing Kim Hyde in the Australian television series Home and Away (2004–07). Hemsworth’s older brothers, Luke and Liam, are also actors.
He has played Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Thor (2011), ‘The Avengers’ (2012), ‘Thor: The Dark World’ (2013), ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ (2015), ‘Doctor Strange’ (2016), ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ (2017), ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018), and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019).
