This news comes after reports suggested that Pinewood Studios planned on increasing the size of their Atlanta studios. Pinewood Atlanta Studios is adding five new soundstages as part of Phase 2 of the Pinewood Studios project. Construction is start in the next few weeks. One of the building will house two 20,000 sq. ft soundstages and 20,000 sq. ft. of office space. A second building will also house a soundstage with 30,000 sq. ft.
In addition, Pinewood Studios announced they were planning on creating new and original content. According to a report by the Hollywood Reporter, Pinewood Studios is teaming up with StoryFirst PST, a US owned media company, and will focus on “creating, developing and financing quality TV drama for the international market.” Now the company is developing and arranging long-term external financing from a group of investors and banks to invest directly into its company.
