Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp dominates the box office
Georgia-filmed Ant-Man and the Wasp dominated movie theaters on its opening weekend, grossing nearly USD 85 million internationally and $76 million in the United States, earning the number one spot at the box office. Disney analysts predict the sequel earned 33% more than the original Ant-Man movie, which made USD 57 million in 2015. The film stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly. It has exceeded movie expectations especially in Korea ($20.9 million) Mexico ($6.7 million) and Indonesia ($5.6 million). It’s scheduled to release in India next week.
Ant-Man 2’s box office success will make the 20th consecutive movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to land the number 1 slot at the box office, proving Marvel Studios has figured out how to make box-office-hit films and that superhero movies are not going anywhere any time soon.
