Charlize Theron’sĀ Atomic BlondeĀ is getting a movie sequel.
The movie, which gave Charlize Theron a major leading role in an action movie, earned a $100m at the global box office off of a $30m budget is expected to get a sequel.
Theron confirmed the news at the San Francisco International Film Festival. Theron is likely to reprise the lead role, however other details are missing. It remains to be seen ifĀ director David Leitch and screenwriters Kurt Johnstad, Antony Johnston and Sam Hart will return.

Atomic Blonde is a 2017 action-thriller spy film starring Charlize Theron. The movie is based on the 2012 graphic novelĀ The Coldest City,Ā which centers around a spy who as to find a list of double agents who are being smuggled into the West, following the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989. The movie is directed by David Leitch and is written by Kurt Johnstad. THe movie features includeĀ Charlize Theron,Ā James McAvoy,Ā John Goodman,Ā Til Schweiger,Ā Eddie Marsan,Ā Sofia Boutella, andĀ Toby Jones.
It grossed $98 million worldwide and received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its action sequences, Theron’s and McAvoy’s performances, and the soundtrack, although some criticized the writing and pacing; many compared the film to theĀ John WickĀ series, for which Leitch was an uncredited co-director and producer of theĀ first film.
