EUE/Screen Gems, one of Atlanta’s biggest movie and TV studios is expanding.
EUE/Screen Gems announced earlier this week, that they plan on building a new 20,000 square foot facility. EUE/Screen Gems is teaming up with lighting and grip supplier MBS Equipment Company.
According to their press release, the decision comes in response to the continued growth of the film and TV industry in Georgia.
Gov. Nathan Deal and the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office announced in July that film and television productions in the state generated $1.7 billion in direct spending during the 2015 fiscal year. In fiscal year 2015, 248 productions shot in the state, up from 158 productions in fiscal year 2014. The move also allows EUE/Screen Gems Studios to capitalize on 45 years of experience supplying client lighting needs in New York City, Wilmington, NC, Atlanta and Miami.
“Today’s announcement deepens our company’s multi-million dollar lighting and grip investment here in Georgia,” says Kris Bagwell, executive vice president of EUE/Screen Gems Studios Atlanta. “Our clients will continue to enjoy exceptional lighting and grip service on site, and MBS increases our stock of globally respected, high-tech brands that we can supply to clients faster than ever.”
EUE/Screen Gems Studios Atlanta was one of the first major studio companies to movie to Georgia. The 10-stage studio is only five minutes away from downtown Atlanta and has become the home for more than 30 TV shows and movies including The Hunger Games, Flight, Satisfaction, and Devious Maids.
