During a recent interview about Ant-Man and The Wasp, Evangeline Lilly, who plays the film’s superhero Wasp, was asked about her suit.
While she wasn’t a big fan of needing to ask for help just to get out of her costume and go to the bathroom, she explained she loved.
“I love my suit. I think my suit is killer. I think my suit is so cool. I think it’s powerful. I think it’s modern and strong and sexy, and I think it made me feel like a superhero,” she explained.
This surprised herbs he said, because guys who play superheroes are always complaining about what they have to wear on screen. “I have been hearing Marvel male superheroes complain about their suits for years,” she explained.
Lilly added, “I got into my suit, and I was wearing it, working it, doing my thing. I was like, ‘It’s just not that bad. Do I have the most comfortable suit in the MCU?’ Or, have men not had the life experience…”
Evangeline Lilly demonstrated for emphasis.
“…of being uncomfortable for the sake of looking good, and they’re just like, ‘What is this? This sucks! Why are we—why why do I have to go through this?’ whereas a woman’s like, ‘I don’t know. This is, like, normal.’ You know? I wear heels to work. I’m uncomfortable all day. You get used to it. You tune it out.”
