Jay-Z and Kanye West Team Up to Produce Chris Rock’s New Movie ‘Top Five’

Date:

Jay-Z and Kanye West have teamed up to produce Chris Rock’s new movie.

According to recent reports, Kanye West is making his debut as a movie producer alongside Jay-Z for the upcoming Chris Rock comedy, ‘Top Five‘.

The rappers will service as executive producers on the project alongside ‘The Roots’ drummer, QuestLove.

Top Five centers around Chris Rock as a fictional comedian attempting to relaunch his career as a serious actor when his reality star fiancee convinces him to allow their wedding to be broadcast on TV.

The movie was also written and directed by Chris Rock and premiered to high reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada. The worldwide rights to the movie were purchased by Paramount executives after a tough bidding war.

The movie seems to fit perfectly with Kanye West’s life. Recently, Kanye West agreed to let E! TV executives capture footage of the moments leading up to his wedding earlier this year for his current wife Kim Kardashian.

Jay-Z has produced several films in the past including ‘The Great Gatsby‘ and the upcoming ‘Annie’ remake.
