Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam are leaving Saturday Night Live and nobody knows why.
Several of SNL’s cast are leaving the hit NBC comedy series. According to TV Line, Jay Pharoah will depart the show after six seasons on the show and leave behind a ton of talented characters. But, Pharoah is not alone. Taran Killam revealed he was leaving the show earlier this week.
Killam will likely be best remembered for his impersonations of Matthew McConaughey, Marco Rubio and Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy. Pharoah, meanwhile, famously channeled the likes of Jay-Z, Will Smith, President Obama and GOP presidential hopeful Dr. Ben Carson.
While there’s no real world on why Pharoah isn’t returning for season 42 of SNL, but it’s pretty shocking. It’s especially difficult considering all of the characters the two comedians played during their tenure, especially Pharaoh’s impression of President Obama. We just have to assume that this means we are going to see a lot more of Kenan Thompson and Kate McKinnon, the show’s most popular comedians at the moment.
Maybe the reason why Pharoah is leaving SNL because he’s working on a movie with Chris Tucker? We can only help.
