Actor Jason David Frank has died at the age of 49.
Frank, born in Covina, California, was famous for his acting roles in the original Mighty Morphing’ Power Rangers TV series from the early 90s. In the show, he played the leading hero Tommy Oliver, initially introduced as the Green Ranger in season 1. As the storyline progressed, he became the White Ranger. In total, he appeared in 145 episodes.
Frank was also featured in hit TV shows as Family Matters and Sweet Valley High. Outside of Hollywood, Frank was a professional mixed martial artist. He was a certified MMA fighter fluent in Judo, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and many more fighting styles. His fighting career lasted from 2008 to 2010.
While his cause of death has not been formally announced, multiple reports suggest Frank died by suicide. eps of his have commented on the incident and stated, “Unfortunately, it is true. Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed.”
