Hugh Jackman is now in talks for The Odyssey adaptation from Hunger Games production team.
According to reports, Hugh Jackman may star in the Lionsgate movie version of Homer’s The Odyssey. The studio announced in April that it had set The Odyssey with Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson attached. CEO Jon Feltheimer announced in May that the major deal was to build a franchise series surrounding The Odyssey.
Lawrence became the director of the final three Hunger Games movies after Gary Ross quit following the first film.
The Odyssey is believed to have been written by Homer in the 8th century B.C. and it centers on Odysseus and his journey home after the fall of Troy while his wife Penelope fights off men trying to marry her.
Lionsgate has not announced the release date for The Odyssesy however, if Hugh Jackman signs up expect filming to start within the next year.
