Filming for Netflix’s Stranger Things 3 is ramping up production across Georgia.
According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, filming is now taking place in Gwinnett Place Mall sending the shopping center back to the ‘80s.
The news outlet reports, Stranger Things has taken over parts of the mall for the filming of the show which means “vacant storefronts in the struggling shopping center are getting overhauls that include some retro looks.”
Reporters illustrate the scene saying, “extras hanging out near the former food court in 1980’s fashions and hairstyles — such as the occasional mullet or rat tail on guys and permed and crimped hair on females — as if there was nothing out of the ordinary about their appearance.” The local news outlet added, “What can be seen of the set are some old 1980’s mall staples, including a Radio Shack, a cinema, wood paneled mall information signs and even a sign on a wall that a Spencer’s Gifts is coming.”
