HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 Could Potentially Transform Joel’s Narrative
Craig Mazin, showrunner for The Last of Us series on HBO, declared that he’s amenable to changing Joel’s narrative in the second season. Caution: Those who have yet to play The Last of Us Part II should be vigilant, as spoilers are ahead!
In actor Pedro Pascal’s recently featured Esquire article, Mazin cautioned viewers that anything could happen to Joel in the series. Be prepared! “This should be fairly obvious to anyone by now, but I don’t fear killing characters,” He remarked on how the video game counterpart ends Joel’s storyline more abruptly, emphasizing Ellie’s narrative even further. “But the important thing to note is that neither Neil [Druckmann, who co-created and exec-produces the series with Mazin] nor I feel constrained by the source material.”
Actress Bella Ramsey, who plays the role of Ellie in this show, discussed the possibility that Pascal might be limited on-camera time for season two. “If that does take place in the show,” she shared, “I don’t know that I’m emotionally ready for it.”
Although Pascal has neither witnessed the scene nor played the game, he is conscious of Joel’s destiny. Even though it is yet to be revealed how that ends for Joel, he indicated that he anticipates Part II’s story arc to come full circle.” It wouldn’t make sense to follow the first game so faithfully only to stray severely from the path.” He added, “So, yeah, that’s my honest answer.”
Keep your eyes and ears open for The Last of Us season two’s official trailer and launch date. Take advantage of this highly anticipated sequel!
