‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ will film in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to Comicbook.com, James Gunn revealed the location of where he plans to film the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel.
One person asked James Gunn, will he be coming back to DragonCon? That’s a popular multi-genre convention held each year in Atlanta Georgia. Gunn replied, “Maybe. I’m gonna try. Because we’re filming in Atlanta, I hope it works out for my schedule.”
Marvel is starting to call Atlanta, Georgia home. Last year, Marvel’s Ant-Man was the first movie to use the new Pinewood Atlanta Studios and Captain America 3 will film in the newly built studios in the next few weeks.
Pinewood Studios currently has five soundstages and is located on 288 acres.
The first Guardians of the Galaxy filmed in the UK at Shepperton Studios and Longcross Studios.
Guardians of the Galaxy centered around a group of intergalactic criminals are forced to work together to stop a fanatical warrior from taking control of the universe.
Guardians of the Galaxy premiered in Hollywood last year and the film became a critical and commercial success, grossing $774.2 million worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing superhero film of 2014. The film was directed by James Gunn, who wrote the screenplay with Nicole Perlman, and features an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio del Toro.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will arrive in theaters May 5, 2017.
