Fox’s ‘Lee Daniels and Danny Strong hip hop drama, Empire casts their lead role.
Terrence Howard, who starred in the hit feature film, The Bulter, landed the starring role in Empire, a drama set in the world of a hip-hop empire.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Howard will play Lucious Lyon, the head of a record label, in the drama from The Butler‘s Daniels and Strong. Lucious is described as charismatic, tough, wise and a superstar in the music industry who oversees Empire Entertainment and is about to take the company public. Raised on the streets, he has never backed away from a fight and will resort to any measures, fair or foul, to defend his beloved Empire.”

Howard previously worked on the shortlived NBC series, Law & Order: LA. This will be the latest TV role with Fox since he worked on M. Night Shyamalan series, Wayward Pines that aired in July.
Casting directors are still casting other lead roles and are holding open casting calls for talents work on the project.
This will be Lee Daniel’s first time directing a TV series. While, Strong has had a long history with a background in TV writing with HBO’s Emmy-nominated series Recount and Game Change.
