Are you glad that all of those Disney theme park attractions are being turned into movies? Well, get ready for another theme park attraction turned movie as Disney is planning on creating a ‘Tower of Terror’ movie.

Deadline reports that the Tower of Terror is being turned into a movie and producers are looking for the best screenwriter to write the perfect script. The movie will not be affiliated with the ride’s Twilight Zone branding which is good news for any Twilight Zone fans or haters.

At the moment, the movie will focus on five people who attend a fancy hotel that have their elevator struck by lighting and the end up disappearing as a result.

Twilight Zone will join the long list of Disney park rides that have been adapted into movies. Tomorrowland, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Jungle Cruise starring The Rock.

The original version of the attraction opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (at Walt Disney World in Florida) in July 1994, and was the basis of the 1997 made-for-television movie Tower of Terror where several scenes were shot at the actual attraction. Since then the Tower of Terror designs and attractions are located in Disneyland Resort in California, Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan and Disneyland Resort Paris.  Apparently, Disney sought to use the popular attraction to boost attendance at the respective resorts’ struggling new theme parks.
