The Director of Looper is to direct the next ‘Star Wars’ movie, ‘Star Wars Episode VIII’
Disney is not playing around with the Star Wars franchise. The billion dollar company is already in development for ‘Star Wars Episode VIII‘.
According to reports, LucasFilms is in talks Rian Johnson, the director of Looper to direct the next Star Wars movies.
Rian Johnson has directed three major feature films including 2005’s ‘Brick‘, and Brothers Bloom (2008) and Looper (2012).
His directorial debut, Brick, won the Special Jury Price during the 2005 Sundance Film Festival.
J.J. Abrams is currently directing the first new, ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’, which is currently filming. It stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, who will join the original stars of the saga, Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels,Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.
