Creator of ‘Hustle and Flow’ to Remake John Travolta’s ‘Urban Cowboy’

Fox is developing ‘Urban Cowboy‘ TV remake with Craig Brewer.

Fox is ramping up production with writer-director Craig Brewer to create a new TV series based on John Travolta’s movie, “Urban Cowboy”.

‘Urban Cowboy’ will follow the relationship of Sissy and Bud as it takes place in the world of rodeos, oil fields, line dancing clubs and other aspects of modern-day Texas. The 1980 movie helped launch John Travolta’s movie career.

Craig Brewer’s 2005 movie Hustle & Flow won the Audience Award at the 2005Sundance Film Festival and achieved commercial success, along with anAcademy Award for Best Original Song, “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp”.
