CNN to End ‘Piers Morgan Live’ in March

Date:

CNN plans to end the Piers Morgan Live by next month.

The New York Times recently reported, a move that was later confirmed by CNN in a statement that due to poor ratings the 24 hour news network plans to let go of the Piers Morgan news show.

Piers Morgan Live received their lowest rating numbers ever last week and now CNN is looking for a replacement for the 9PM ET news slot. According to Deadline.com, Morgan says he is likely to continue working with CNN after the cancellation.

The series had low ratings since January 2011 when Piers Morgan took over Larry King’s slot. The former America’s Got Talent judge started having trouble winning audiences after FOX news changed their nightly news segment.

The Fox News Network new segment, The Kelly File began winning audiences and shot to the top as one of the most watched news segments.
