Even though the director did not build an atomic bomb for a scene, he was very cautious about revealing information. He stated that he and his team “recreated the Trinity test,” named after the first detonation of nuclear weaponry, indicating a large explosion occurred during filming. At dawn on July 16, 1945, in Jornada del Muerto, the United States Army conducted a pivotal test as part of their Manhattan Project.

How far Christopher Nolan was prepared to go in realizing the vision of Oppenheimer within his film, Tenet, cannot be underestimated – crashing a real Boeing 747 into a building during shooting!

Christopher Nolan’s newest movie, ‘Oppenheimer’, is set to be one of his most ambitious projects to date. Focusing on the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man credited with “fathering” the atomic bomb, Nolan looks to tell a story that highlights both the genius and human tragedy of Oppenheimer’s life. The movie is set to explore his complex relationship with the government, as well as his own internal struggles and mental turmoil in relation to the creation of such a destructive weapon. By using film to delve into the issues from both personal and political perspectives, Nolan looks to offer an insight into how Oppenheimer was able to make history while still being left feeling alone. ‘Oppenheimer’ will be a masterful exploration of one man’s moral dilemma during a time of great upheaval and it promises to be an intense cinematic experience. With its all star cast, breathtaking cinematography and thought provoking story, ‘Oppenheimer’ is sure to be another classic from Christopher Nolan that will cement him as one of Hollywood’s greatest directors.
