John Krasinski admitted that sitting with Leonardo DiCaprio at the Golden Globes and it was extremely awkward.
The action-movie star of Michael Bay’s 13 Hours and The Office alumnus stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he revealed the secret behind getting a great seat at the Golden Globe Awards. But, be careful what you wish for.
“I went alone and turns out that when you go stag they put you at a great table. I was at Leonardo DiCaprio’s table,” he shared, pointing out that his wife, Emily Blunt couldn’t attend because she was shooting a movie.
But, he had the lucky chance to sit next to the cast and crew of The Revenant including Leonardo DiCaprio and Alejandro González Iñárritu. But, that’s when things got awkward.
“I didn’t get a chance to meet him and I didn’t want to be like, ‘Hey man I’m the guy that doesn’t have anybody.’ And then they won everything,” Krasinski explained to the host. “So I’m in the middle of hugs and people are like this is the best year ever and I was like, ‘Wasn’t it?’ And then everybody went up and gave their speech I felt really pretty stupid.”
“There was a moment, speaking of Alejandro [González Iñárritu], when he won he said hi to everyone and thank you because they all worked on the movie and then turned to me and there was that moment of like, ‘Why are you here?’ and I was like, ‘Congratulations,’” he continued.
Kransiki also discussed how he got ripped for 13 Hours. Apparently, he was on such a restrictive diet it ruined his social life. “I mean, if you invited me over to watch a movie I would just, like, eat DVDs I was so hungry for so long,” he joked.
