John Krasinski reveals what it was like to audition for Marvel's Captain America.
John Krasinski revealed to Conan that he auditioned for the role of Captain America, but one thing got in his way: Chris Hemsworth's fit body.
Before Chris Evans became Captain America we all know and love, John Krasinski from The Office auditioned for the lead role. Apparently, John was always a huge fan of Captain America and even publicly admitted to join the cast of a Marvel movie. However, midway through his audition, he ran into a huge problem.
“They allowed me to put on the suit, I was on a set. It was all very interesting,” he told Conan. “I remember the only bummer was, I was putting on the suit, I was like, “This is so amazing,” and I got about right to my waist my waist, still shirtless and feeling pretty good about myself… and all of a sudden Chris Hemsworth walked by.”
That's when things changed for John Krasinski and he realized he wasn't cut out for the lead role.
