50 Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson has just bashed the film industry.
Dakota Johnson, 26, slammed the film industry for not casting older women. The Fifty Shades star calls Hollywood ‘F–ing brutal’ in new Vogue interview. Johnson, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, offered a revealing perspective of the film industry for the February edition of Vogue magazine.
Johnson, questioned why “my mother and grandmother” are not in movies.
Referencing her Working Girl star mother, 58, and actress grandmother Tippi Hedren, 85, she said: ‘Why isn’t my mother in the movies? She’s an extraordinary actress. Why isn’t my grandmother in the movies? This industry is f****** brutal.’

Johnson is not the only actress bashing the film industry lately. Carrie Fisher recently criticized those questioning how badly she aged following her appearance on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Fisher, 59, took to Twitter to address the scrutiny over re-casting as an older Princess Leia, saying: ‘Please stop debating about whether or not I have aged well. Unfortunately it hurts all 3 of my feelings. My body hasn’t aged as well as I have. Blow us.’
And Anne Hathaway also spoke about being a victim of an industry that favors casting young actors. The 32-year-old actress revealed that she is already losing roles to actress far younger than her.
‘When I was in my early twenties, parts would be written for women in their fifties and I would get them.’
She added: ‘Now I’m in my early thirties and I’m like, “Why did that 24-year-old get that part?” I was that 24-year-old once. I can’t be upset about it, it’s the way things are.’
