The film has rapidly gained popularity in the first week and continues to be DC’s number one anti-hero movie, making $250 million at the worldwide box office this past weekend. Black Adam, which features The Rock, caused an estimated $7.5 million on its second Friday and is expected to earn around $39 million this weekend from 76 different overseas markets, including European countries like France, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, and Denmark as well as the United Kingdom.

Black Adam rom-com has become the actor’s 18th film to surpass George Clooney, Julia Roberts’s Ticket to Paradise, and Prey for the Devil. It is estimated that Black Adam will also do better than Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Black Adam features Dwayne Johnson as the titular character, Teth Adam. The film tells how he received his powers from ancient gods and was turned into a vengeful deity. It also stars Noa Centineo as Atom Smasher, Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman.

In direct competition with Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, our film is set to arrive in theaters on November 11.

The movie was estimated to make $65 million during the weekend, but ticket sales showed otherwise. By the end of the weekend, the film had grossed a total of $140 million worldwide. The U.K., Mexico, Brazil, and Australia brought in the most revenue for this film, with numbers reaching up to $6.1 million.

“The success of Black Adam is truly a dream come true. We’ve been working towards this family goal here at Seven Bucks for 15 years, applying every bit of experience we’ve acquired over the years to help bring this project to life. So, to be here now seeing how our hard work has been paid off with the biggest opening of our careers is an incredible feeling,” said Hiram Garcia, President of Production for Johnson’s Seven Bucks, via Deadline.

“Our goal with this film was to establish several new characters in the DCEU that would give us an opportunity, in success, to really expand the universe, but most importantly, we wanted to take care of the fans,” he added. “We’ve been listening to their feedback for years, and we were determined to give them what they wanted. Their enthusiasm for the film has been incredible and truly matches the passion that our Seven Bucks team, along with FPC and Jaume, poured into this movie.”

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, Noah Centineo, Pierce Brosnan, and more in the 4,350-theater release from New Line/Warner Bros. The movie is playing on both IMAX and premium screens.

Black Adam opened with $16.3 million from 3,542 cinemas, followed by Ticket to Paradise (from Universal and Working Title), starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts as two divorcees who must put their issues aside to stop their daughter from getting married.
