Get ready for the upcoming filming of ‘Bad Boys 4’ this spring in Atlanta!
The beloved will-they-won’t-they duo of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back together in Atlanta to film the latest installment of their classic ‘Bad Boys franchise!
Last month, the two actors took to Instagram with a video announcing the much-anticipated sequel is happening!
Productionlist.com announced that the movie is slated to commence filming on April 3.
Early in 2019, much of the filming for “Bad Boys For Life” was completed in Atlanta before production shifted to Mexico City and Miami.
Before the pandemic swept through, this film debuted in early 2020 and saw an incredible turnout at theaters across North America and Canada, with a box office gross of over $200 million. The movie’s popularity also extended to other countries – it attracted more than $220 million globally! Critics and viewers alike appreciated the film, with a 76% approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics and an impressive 96% positive audience score.
Sony Pictures has been tight-lipped about the plot of “Bad Boys 4,” yet, a post-credit scene from its predecessor, “Bad Boys for Life,” hinted at what might lie ahead. Mike (Smith) visits his son Armando (Jacob Scipio) in prison, allowing him to turn his life around. With this, it appears likely that he will team up with Mike and Marcus to face off against the next infamous drug lord in Miami.
When Will Smith started his acting career, the original “Bad Boys” movie debuted in 1995 and delivered impressive box office performances. In 2003, the sequel to “Bad Boys” – “Bad Boys II” was met with lukewarm reviews from critics. However, it achieved an astonishing feat at the box office, doubling its predecessor’s total revenue!
Despite the wait of over fifteen years, Smith held out for a script that would do justice to his third movie. His patience was rewarded as it achieved more praise than its predecessors.
