Atlanta news Radio DJ fired for airing a fake Donald Trump interview
An Atlanta news radio host has been fired after he used an old interview with Donald Trump and called it a new Donald Trump interview earlier this week.
Steve McCoy, who used to work on NewsRadio 106.7 until this week, interviewed Donald Trump several years ago when he was a morning DJ on a different radio station. Then, this week he “made a few changes to make it sound current” and advertised it as an exclusive story, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

However, when a BuzzFeed reporter called out the interview, especially calling the lack of discussion about Donald Trump’s current campaign for president, McCoy said that Trump’s handlers said he could not use any police questions.

Donald Trump’s campaign later said Trump did not talk to McCoy and the host was later suspended from the NewsRadio 106.7.
“For obvious reasons Steve McCoy no longer works at the station,” program director Greg Tantum said Friday.
NewsRadio 106.7 suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
To add insult to injury. his former Star 94 cohost, Vicki Locke, told the AJC on Thursday that McCoy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2006, and has been secretly fighting the disease for over ten years.
