Obsessed ’24’ Fan Changes Name to Jack Bauer and Attacks People

Date:

A ’24’ fan legally changed his name to Jack Bauer and attacked a cab driver with a knife.

Carl Ennis, a British man that was so obsessed with 24 that he changed his name to Jack Bauer, and after a heavy night of drinking his alter ego was revealed.

From Daily Mail:

Following a night out, he got out of bed shortly after midnight. And when his girlfriend went to see where he was, she found him dressed in combat gear in the lounge, holding a weapon.

Michael Bunch, prosecuting, said: ‘He said: “Would you still love me if I hurt someone and got arrested?” He left the house and it would appear he took with him an extendable baton which had been by the bed and a flick knife.’

Not only did Carol Ennis change his name to Jack Bauer he also had “combat gear” and a “weapon”.

Bauer, from South Shields, who had no previous convictions, told taxi driver David Pearson he was going to a fancy dress party before attacking him as he drove in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.

Apparently, Carl Ennis changed his name to the popular 24 character to “make a fresh start” after a family member died.

If you ever see anyone with the name Jack Bauer, I would probably run.
