A DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT is a TELEVISION MOVIE starring Whoopi Goldberg and Ving Rhames.
Based on the novel by Terry McMillian, A Day Late And A Dollar Short is about Viola, the matriarch of a large family full of children and grandchildren who are up to their necks with what seems like insurmountable problems. Not to mention that Viola’s husband wants to leave her now that all of their children are grown up, and that she suffers from severe asthma. But when a serious attack lands Viola in the hospital, and saddles her with the news that her next attack could be her last, Viola decides that she must do whatever she can to repair the rifts in her family before her time is up. But that is easier said than done, especially since her children’s and grandchildren’s problems seem to keep getting worse.
