AUDITIONS: We are looking for non-AEA fully costumed actors to portray our host Professor Von Guttenberg and our hungry Zombie, Dr. Oxy, during an ongoing production that has the participants as protagonists in an interactive experience where they find clues and solve puzzles to escape a room. As Prof. Von Guttenberg you will walk participants through instructions for half of the performances you give and then be Dr. Oxy for the other half. Character: Gretchen/Gustavo Von Guttenberg (Chief Lab Technician)
This role is completely interactive from the minute our guests walk through the door until they depart as undead flesh eaters. Guttenberg is an actor in the show as well as the director of the 12 actors in the show who are the protagonists and decide their own fate. This role is extremely outgoing! We need bubbly folks with volcanic, improv personalities ready to erupt with excitement about the show.
Character: Dr. Oxy.
This character is a fully costumed starving zombie! This actor is a loud, athletic floor dweller who spends the duration of the show (1 hour) on his/her stomach and knees chasing the other actors (participants) around the room. This role can be very physically demanding and calls for being incredibly vocal each and every show. Dr. Oxy should go home exhausted, but never hungry for human flesh!
This role demands a keen sense of dramatic timing and live interaction between the show participants.
Actors with a history of improv excel in both roles.
All contractors that we hire will need to play both roles.
WHERE: Auditions, training and shows all take place at: 660 B Bryant St., San Francisco, CA 94107
WHEN: Monday, May 11th evening (Between 5-10pm, specific time will be determined when you are invited to audition)
PAY: Our actors are paid 30 dollars per performance. Each show is about an hour and a half long. Performers can average $150-250 (pre-tax) per week. See website for show times.
PREREQUISITES: Prior acting experience is beneficial as we are looking for great acting and a fantastic zombie-like appearance. All actors are responsible for putting on their own make up before each performance. A résumé showing a great work ethic that demonstrates a history of responsibility and trust will go a long way in getting an audition.
