It was just a few months earlier that Paramount and Miramax stirred up excitement among fans by announcing their plans to breathe new life into the Scary Movie series. They are set to launch Scary Movie 6 in theaters by 2025. This big news got us thinking – let’s go back in time and revisit the series that kept us on the edge of our seats, laughing out loud. After looking at Scary Movie in our last month’s blog, now it’s high time we moved to Scary Movie 2, which you can watch HERE if you missed it. Check out more about it in the video above.

A Peek Into the Parody

Scary Movie 2, directed by the talented Keenen Ivory Wayans, was a craft of big names like Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Alyson Fouse, Greg Grabianski, Dave Polsky, Michael Anthony Snowden, and Craig Wayans who penned the script. The film is the supernatural extension of the first movie, taking a playful jab at the iconic horror classics such as The Exorcist, House on Haunted Hill and Poltergeist. But it doesn’t stop there—it boldly parodies newer films like Hannibal and What Lies Beneath as well as popular figures from Mission: Impossible 2 and Charlie’s Angels.

Who’s In It?

Scary Movie 2 boasted an impressive line-up of stars. Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Christopher Masterson, Kathleen Robertson lead the cast. They are joined by David Cross, Tim Curry, Tori Spelling, Chris Elliott, James Woods, Andy Richter, Richard Moll, Veronica Cartwright, Natasha Lyonne, and Beetlejuice. A cracking ensemble indeed!
