Roseanne Barr weighed in on calls for Oprah Winfrey to run for president following her Golden Globes speech on Sunday night.
At the Television Critics Association press tour on Monday, Barr was asked what she thought of the speech and subsequent reports that the Oprah Winfrey was considering a 2020 bid for the White House.
Barr said she could do a better job in office than either Oprah or Hollywood’s biggest Bernie Sanders supporter, Susan Sarandon.
“Actually, I think I would be a better president than Oprah and Susan Sarandon,” Barr said. “Possibly even President Trump.”
Barr was repeatedly pressed on her political opinions at the panel for the reboot of her ABC sitcom, with reporters noting that one of the first episodes back reveals her character was also a Trump voter.
“I’ve always tried to have [the “Roseanne” show] be a true reflection on the society we live in,” Barr said. “So I feel like half the people voted for Trump and half didn’t, so it’s just realistic.”
