Colin Farrell Stars in Netflix’s ‘The Ballad Of A Small Player,’ Filming in Macau
Colin Farrell and Tilda Swinton are set to star in Edward Berger’s new Netflix feature, ‘The Ballad Of A Small Player,’ currently filming in Macau. The production, which commenced in the Chinese region earlier this month, will also include scenes shot in Hong Kong.
Adapted from Lawrence Osborne’s 2014 novel, the story follows a gambler, portrayed by Farrell, who is evading his debts by hiding in Macau. There, he encounters a “kindred spirit” who might hold the solutions to his troubles. The cast also features Fala Chen alongside Farrell and Swinton.
Produced by Mike Goodridge’s Good Chaos, Edward Berger’s Nine Hours, and Matthew James Wilkinson for Stigma Films, the screenplay was written by Rowan Joffe.
This film marks Berger’s first collaboration with Netflix following his acclaimed work on ‘All Quiet On The Western Front.’
