YouTube influencer MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, has decisively responded to serious allegations against his collaborator Ava Kris Tyson by severing all professional connections. Donaldson declared his disgust over the grooming accusations involving Tyson and a minor, and announced the removal of Tyson from his company and related ventures.
The allegations surfaced when a group of YouTubers brought to light messages reportedly exchanged between Tyson, then 20, and a 13-year-old user known as LavaGS. These messages allegedly discussed explicit content, leading to widespread scrutiny on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Discord, and YouTube.
In a recent post on X, Donaldson stated, “I’ve become aware of the serious allegations against Ava Tyson’s behavior online and am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts.” He confirmed his immediate action to dissociate Tyson from his operations and emphasized that an independent third party has been engaged to conduct a thorough investigation.
While Tyson has denied the grooming allegations and issued an apology for her past online behavior, the controversy remains heated. LavaGS has defended their past interactions with Tyson as misunderstood humor, not grooming.
This situation occurs against a backdrop of previous defense by Donaldson of Tyson against transphobic harassment following her gender transition announcement. Donaldson has stressed that further steps will be based on the findings of the ongoing independent investigation.
