Sarah Dowling Casting is conducting a nationwide search for spirited, interesting, smart and creative boys ages 6-10 to be considered for leading roles in the upcoming Hollywood family film, “Midnight Special.”
“Midnight Special” is written and directed by award-winning director, Jeff Nichols from Mud, and Take Shelter).
While acting experience is not necessary, the production will provide compensation on the scale of professional actors.
Filmmakers are specifically looking for children who are creative and interesting, perhaps with a particular wisdom, intelligence or ‘old soul’ quality.
Boys who are in gifted and talent programs are encouraged to apply.
Casting directors pointed out that all looks and body types are encouraged. They are especially looking for a boy with large or unique eyes.If your child speaks Spanish or another second language, please let us know at the time of your interview.
Sarah Dowling has worked in casting on such films as “Mud” (starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon), “The Tree of Life” (starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn), “The Girl” (starring Abbie Cornish), and “Seven Days in Utopia” (starring Robert Duvall).
An open casting call is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Hilton New Orleans- Riverside, located at 2 Poydras St. in New Orleans.
