Production for the new Disney movie is heating up.
About Mary Poppins:
In 2015, Disney announced a new Mary Poppins feature film was going to be made with a new plot and songs.movie is going to be directed by Rob Marshall and written by David Magee. New songs will be composed by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. In fact, the creator of the original iconic songs in the first Mary Poppins movie, Richard Sherman, has supported the new duo.
While the movie is not a reboot for a remake of the original 1960s meeting, Mary Poppins will revisit the Bank’s children from the first film. the movie will be based on other Mary Poppins books. Emily Blunt will star as Mary Poppins, alongside Lin-Manuel Maranda and the role of Jack. The movie will take place in depression-era London, 20 years after the original movie. The movie will hit theaters on December 25, 2018.
Mary Poppins Returns Casting Director
According to IMDB, David Grindrod is the official casting director behind the movie. Grindrod is the casting director behind some of the biggest movies including The Beauty and the Beast, Mamma Mia! and The Phantom of the Opera.
In a 2011 interview, Grindrod explained what he looks for in actors in the audition room. “It sounds really basic, but talent,” he explains. “something that will be really useful for the profession; the notes I put down are “hunger”, “energy”, “really want it”, and of course, if they need it financially I understand that. But there has to be a need to want to perform”.
