An AMC television series “TURN” is filming in the Central Virginia area, and Arvold Casting is seeking actors who look authentically from the Revolutionary War period for speaking roles.
TURN is adapted from the nonfiction book Washington’s Spies by Alexander Rose. The story is centered on a band of young soldiers and civilians who were part of the secret spy ring during the Revolutionary War.

CYRUS – 20s, Caucasian, a Continental who disguises himself as a Redcoat. He is a passionate and creative freedom fighter. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations.
AIDE-DE-CAMP – 30s, Caucasian. Continental army officer who provides George Washington updates on camp procedures. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very closely tied to England and that those families had only been here for a few generations.
TITUS – 20s to 30s, African American, a former slave who is now a member of the elite Queen’s Rangers. He relishes being free, and is a staunch supporter of loyalist principles. His accent should have a Revolutionary War flavor to it, somewhere between an American, Southern and African accent, reminding us that the colonies had only been here for a few generations.
CONTINENTAL SURGEON – mid-30s to 40s, Caucasian. Oversees the Continental soldier ward of smallpox patients. Is up-to-date and progressive in his medical techniques. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very closely tied to England and that those families had only been here for a few generations.
SICK CONTINENTAL SOLDIER – mid-20s to 30s, Caucasian. A Continental soldier infected by smallpox who remains zealous for the cause, even while dying. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very closely tied to England and that those families had only been here for a few generations.
CAPTAIN TERRENCE – late-20s to late 30s, Caucasian. A Redcoat officer who recently escaped captivity from the Continental army. Authentic British accent mandatory.
ORATOR – Caucasian. A Continental soldier whose voice is his instrument. He reads aloud the criminal charges of disloyal or unlawful soldiers. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very closely tied to England and that those families had only been here for a few generations.
REDCOAT SOLDIER – mid-20s to 40s, Caucasian. Hunger makes him willing to negotiate good prices for extra food. Authentic British accent mandatory.
