“Johnny” the upcoming feature film about Johnny Tapia, the Boxing Champion of the World is holding an open Casting call in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
According to KRQE, Albuquerque will be the locationĀ for the new film “Johnny” based on the life of the legendary Boxer Johnny Tapia.
“Filmmakers say it makes sense that the film is shot here because so much of Tapiaās life took place in the Duke City.Ā The production looks to hire right around 230 actors, extras and crew members.Ā The film office says theyāll use mostly New Mexicans.”
Filming starts next month.
Midthunder Casting is holding an open casting call for speaking roles in the upcoming Johnny Tapia feature film. Actors that are selected will get paid $504/day. Producers are looking for Hispanic Boys ages 2 and age 7 to portray “Young Johnny” and Hispanic Men ages 60’s to 70’s to play Johnny’s Grandfather.
The Open casting call will be held at University Village Hotel (BallRoom) on Saturday, June 21st, 2014 from 2: t0 5:00PM.
