Introducing Enhanced Messaging on Project Casting

Date:

Better Communication. Smarter Connections.

We’re excited to announce a major enhancement to our messaging system on Project Casting — making it easier than ever for talent and casting professionals to communicate with purpose and security.

Whether you’re applying to your next big role or casting your next production, our upgraded messaging system is built to help you connect faster, more efficiently, and with the right tools in place.

What’s New?

This update refines who can message whom, improves clarity on access permissions, and ensures messages are always tied to live, relevant opportunities.

Here’s what you can now expect:

For Talent:

  • Premium Professionals can now message companies directly — as long as the company has an active job post.
  • Before sending a message, you’ll be asked to select the job you’re messaging about.
  • The job title becomes the conversation subject, and the company will be able to view the job details right from the message thread.
  • Free members can receive messages but cannot initiate new conversations. If you click “Message,” you’ll be prompted to upgrade your account to unlock this feature.

For Companies & Casting Directors:

  • Companies can message talent only after a job has been posted.
  • Each message must be linked to a specific job, helping both parties stay aligned on the context of the communication.
  • If no jobs are currently active, the system will prompt the company to post a job before messaging is allowed.

Full Messaging Feature List

Once messaging is available to you, you’ll benefit from several new tools and interface improvements:

  • Edit Sent Messages: Made a typo? No problem — just click and edit.
  • Threaded Conversations: Continue discussions in a single, organized place.
  • Message Deletion: Remove messages that are no longer relevant or sent in error.
  • Full Message History: View all of your past conversations in one place.
  • Mobile-Optimized: Use messaging seamlessly on mobile — whether you’re commuting, on set, or at your desk.

Important Messaging Rules

To ensure clarity and security, here are a few key guidelines built into the system:

  • Talent-to-talent messaging is not allowed. Communication is designed to be between professionals and companies.
  • Only Premium professionals can initiate contact.
  • Companies must have a live job post to initiate or receive messages.
  • If a company has no jobs, professionals will not see the message button.

Where to Find Your Messages

  • After logging in, click the message icon in the dashboard.
  • You’ll find your full inbox, including all previous message threads and job-linked conversations.

Final Thoughts

This update is part of our ongoing effort to improve the way casting and talent discovery happens online. We believe that by tying messaging to real jobs and verified accounts, we’re not just adding features — we’re building trust and professionalism into every interaction.

We can’t wait for you to try the new system — and we’re here if you have questions.
