Disney’s Star Wars Episode VII Open Casting Call in Chicago this Thursday, November 14!
Have you ever dreamed on working on the Death Star? Do you want a chance at a role on Star Wars Episode VII? Well producers and casting directors are currently holding a open casting call for two roles in the next “Star Wars” movie.
Accoridng to LucasFilm, casting director for Marvels The Avengers, and Inception, Maryellen Aviano, will be looking for two roles:
- No.1: A young female, 17-18 years old, “street smart, independent, athletic, natural beauty… all ethnicities, multi & bi-racial.” (The character is named “Rachel” and was “quite young when she lost her parents. With no other family, she was forced to make her way alone in a tough, dangerous town… Always a survivor, never a victim, she remains hopeful…”)
- No. 2: A young male to play 19-23 years old (though the actor must be older than 18). The role is described as “athletic, smart, handsome, independent spirited.” (The character is named “Thomas,” and he has “grown up without a father’s influence. Without the model of being a man, he doesn’t have the strongest sense of himself.”)
Auditions will be held from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., and if Aviano likes what she sees, you will be asked to return the next day to read for a casting associate. Acting experience is not necessary, though anyone under 18 must bring a parent or guardian.
The next installment of the “Star Wars” movie series will be directed by J.J. Abrams.
On Thursday, Disney announced a release date: Dec. 18. 2015.
Shooting begins in the spring, and no, we have no idea if Rachel and Thomas are Skywalkers or Solos, Wookies or Jawas.
May the force be with you anyway.
