Nikita is a TV series that is featured on the CW Television network and has first premiered in 2010. The show is based on a 90’s French film Nikita and the series focuses on an escaped woman from a secret government project known as Division, and after three years after hiding she is back to bring down the organization. The first episode drew 3.57 million viewers, and since then Nikita averages close to 2.40 million viewers a year.
In 2010 Maggi Q was selected as Nikita. The executive producer, Silverstien, commented and said casting Q was a simple and quick process because they wanted someone who was beautiful but also looked like they could be able to kill someone at the same time, and Maggie Q was perfect. Later that month, Shane west was selected as Michael followed by Lyndsy Fonseca as the role of Alex. Silverstien commented the casting of Fonseca came at the last moment because they loved the actor’s intensity in the role.
Despite the show being set in and around New Jersey, Nikita is primarily filmed in Canada. Specifically in Toronto and Ontario. But many of the landmark locations shown in the television show are actually portrayed by photo doubles and not the actual actors themselves.
Since Nikita was released the average fan base has grown extensively since the first season. Metacritic reports that the average review score for the show was above average at 66 out of 100 making it generally favorable to most audiences.
Nikita features Lyndsy Fonseca, Shane West, Aaron Stanford, Melinda Clarke, and Xander Berkeley in association with Warner Bros. Television, CBS Television Distribution.
