Richmond, Virginia Casting Call – AMC’s ‘TURN: Washington’s Spies’ is now casting speaking roles for Season 2 episode 3.
AMC’s television series TURN: WASHINGTON’S SPIES is filming in the Central Virginia area, and Arvold Casting is seeking actors who look authentically from the Revolutionary War period for speaking roles. TURN is adapted from the nonfiction book Washington’s Spies by Alexander Rose. The story is centered on a band of young soldiers and civilians who were part of the secret spy ring during the Revolutionary War.
All principal (speaking) roles are either local hires (within 60 miles of Richmond, VA) or modified local hires (within 500 miles of Richmond, VA). In general, modified local hire means mileage reimbursement, lodging provided and per diem on work days only.
Seeking the following speaking roles for episode 203:
[HALLUM] Male, 50s, Caucasian. A pompous New Jersey doctor who finds himself interrupted with his mistress at his home late at night and realizes that his life may be in danger. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations.. [DELANCEY] Male, early 30s, Caucasian. An affable soldier who plays a female role in a play. While not a professional actor in the play, he embraces the comedic role in earnest. Authentic British accent required. [CO-STAR]
[JUDGE SHIPPEN] Male, 50-55, Caucasian. A powerful and wealthy Philadelphia judge and socialite. His pride and joy is his daughter. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations. [DOCTOR JAMES THATCHER] Male, early 40s, Caucasian. A military doctor who resets a general’s leg during battle. [GRIZZLED RANGER] Male, late 30s-40s, Caucasian. A tough Queen’s ranger. [REDCOAT] Male, early to mid-20s, Caucasian. A British soldier at Brooklyn Harbor. Authentic British accent required. Stunt experience a plus. [CO-STAR]
[REDCOAT CAPTAIN] Male, 30s, Caucasian. A British captain at Brooklyn Harbor with some authority about him and used to giving orders. Authentic British accent required. [CO-STAR]
[NURSE] Female, 20s-early 40s, Caucasian. A military nurse serving food and caring for wounded soldiers. Her accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations..
