Adam Sandler calls his new Netflix movie a “misunderstanding”
Many critics called Adam Sandler’s new movie racist. But, Adam Sandler has finally responded to criticism of his Netflix Western parody The Ridiculous Six by not technically not really responding.
The movie initially caught heat after Native American actors walked off the set over its apparently offensive script, in which native american characters were given ridiculous names like “No Bra” and “Beaver’s Breath” and asked to do things like urinate while smoking a peace pipe. There have even been reports that actors were forced to use makeup to darken their skin tone instead of hiring actual Native American actors.
At the premiere of his new project Pixels on Saturday, Adam Sandler told the Associated Press, “It was just a misunderstanding and once the movie is out will be cleared up.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Adam Sandler also referred to the movie as “100 percent pro-American Indian.”
