Jeymes Samuel, known for his work on Netflix’s The Harder They Fall, is working diligently on his follow-up project entitled The Book of Clarence. According to Deadline, the film will feature Atlanta’s LaKeith Stanfield and Lupin’s Omar Sy.

Samuel wrote the script and will direct and produce the movie, which is set to take place in 29 AD. Stanfield is attached to play Clarence. At this time, not many plot details are available. The project falls under Legendary Pictures.

James Lassiter, Shawn Carter, and Tendo Nagenda are also set to produce, which marks the second time the trio will join forces for a Samuel film. Their previous joint effort was on The Harder They Fall.

In May, Samuel first revealed the project to the public, mentioning that it would take place during biblical times. Speaking to Deadline, he said, “You remember those biblical epics, whether they were about the Bible or just taking place around it, from The Ten Commandments to The Greatest Story Ever Told, Samson and Delilah and Ben-Hur, which runs alongside all that stuff in the Bible? As will be The Book of Clarence, a full fun-filled extravaganza. It’s written and ready to go and set in 29 AD.”

The Book of Clarence does not yet have an official premiere date but stay tuned for updates on the project.
