Marvel is taking legal action against the potential leaker of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ as they request a court subpoena.
Marvel is vigorously searching for more details regarding the Reddit user who disclosed dialogue from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania before its theatrical debut.
In response to the leak, Marvel reportedly submitted an official request in a Californian federal court to summon Reddit and uncover who is responsible for the breach. According to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the Disney-owned studio seeks all Identifying Information for the user ‘u/MSSmods’ and any other users associated with posting, editing, or maintaining content on /MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit from January 15th to February 15th.
Although Reddit representatives have yet to confirm any collaboration with Marvel, “Reddit is committed to protecting our users’ privacy. We have rigorous processes to assess legal requests and object when appropriate.”
Furthermore, Marvel submitted a similar subpoena to Google citing the speculation that the leak was spread through a file shared on Google Docs.
On January 20th, 2023, 63 pages of dialogue from the film were released to the public in anticipation of its US release on February 17th.
