Universal Pictures have announced that they are now in development for the motion picture version of the hit book ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’. The movie turned novel centers on a literature student Anastasia Steele who meets a handsome, yet tormented billionaire named Christian Grey. It has been rumored that Angelina Jolie was selected to star in the novel turned motion picture.
Fifty Shades of Grey was written by E.L. James and is currently produced by Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca. Moreover, the film will produced in association with Focus Features, Trigger Street Productions, and Michael De Luca Productions.
Fifty Shades of Grey novel also has a second and third volume titled Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, respectively. Fifty Shades of Grey has topped best seller lists around the world including the United Kingdom and the United States. The series has sold 40 million copies worldwide, and has set the record for the fastest selling paperback of all time, surpassing the Harry Potter series, despite, a mixed review from many critics.
It is interesting to note that in Brevard County, Florida, USA, Fifty Shades of Grey was removed from the shelves due to the sexual context of the novel.
