Jonah Hill went through a lot for his role in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.
Hill recently spoke with ‘Good Morning America’ about the latest sacrifice he made for his Oscar-nominated performance. Not only did Jonah Hill lobby Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio for the part, he agreed to do it for only $60,000, he work fake teeth, and he even took a punch to the face to film a scene for the movie.
During a fight scene with one of JordanBelfort‘s drug dealers, Hill took a real hit. He explained in an interview that aired on Friday’s Good Morning America: “Scorsese’s going, ‘It doesn’t look good; it doesn’t look good.’ Then he looks at me and he goes, ‘Hey, kid, you want to try one where he hits you for real?'”
So, they did the scene with Hill really being punched.
“I’m on the floor and Scorsese’s like, ‘Get him new teeth and shoot his face cause it’s swelling,'” Hill said.
“In the first take, I said, ‘Take that last piece of yellowtail.’ And then we did takes all night, so he had to eat like 80 pieces of raw yellowtail,” Hill explained. “And by the end of the night, he was on the floor throwing up in a trash bin, and the only two people on the floor laughing were myself and Martin Scorsese. ”
