The Matrix became an instant cult classic. Millions of people stood in lines to watch a world where everything is a program.
But, Warner Brothers has stopped promoting the series after three movies and several animations. Now the Wachowskis look like they are going back to the Matrix with a prequel to the series.
According to Latino Review, the Wachowski’s have started the writing process with early outlines to turn into the Warner Bros. studio. And most likely, the movie will be made to compete against Star Wars and Avatar.
Fans of the series may recall that there were many “ONES”, who basically rebooted the system and kept the machines working and the human race in line. So essentially, it is quite possible for the Wachowski’s to re-do the same movie over again with a new “NEO” and it will still make sense.
Previously, Will Smith was set to be the lead actor in “The Matrix” series but, later declined the offer. He later said it was one of his biggest mistakes in his career. With a possible Matrix prequel on the way, he may have a second chance.
