Every actor should act like a professional. The term to fake it before you make it is crucial in Hollywood, and actors should treat every position from background acting to a lead role like a professional actor.

For instance, Jennifer Lawrence was never involved with theater and did not take acting classes, stating, “I’ve always studied people and been fascinated by their reactions and feelings. And I think that’s the best acting class you can take – watching real people, listening to them and studying them.”

Here are 5 ways a professional actor treats acting.

However, it is important that actor’s only contact their agent for legitimate reasons. Think of your agent as your foot into the industry but not your therapist, psychologist, mother, father, or personal psychic. If you hear of an audition for a part that you could play, then it’s a good idea to call your agent.
